recent studies have found that racism (including discriminatory healthcare practices), parental expectations, and self-image all have a significant impact on sexual behavior and reproductive health in black women. those factors coupled with antiquated, patriarchal traditions surrounding dating and relationships can create quite the conundrum for black women/femmes as we come of age and navigate adulthood.
